Mickey Mouse has a new animated series premiering on the Disney Channel on Friday, June 28th. As the Comics Alliance article mentioned, Mickey Mouse has been a neglected character when it comes to cartoon series. My niece and nephew love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but I am not even sure that counts. The Clubhouse show is great at teaching kids to recognize patterns and that sort of educational stuff but it isn't the blast of all-ages entertainment that Mickey Mouse has the potential to provide.
In what’s obviously an earnest effort to resurrect the classic spirit of Mickey Mouse for the 21st century, the studio has enlisted a fantastic assortment of talents from shows like The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Sym-Bionic Titan to honor the brilliant works of the past with an all-new series of genuinely funny and beautifully designed short films set to air on the Disney Channel this summer.
